I hope that STO will be successful. Cryptic has already stated how overwhelmed they were at how many people registered for the beta. They even got more servers up just for the beta since there were so many people. I can't wait for the full game. At first I was looking at Stargate Worlds, but it really seems to have come to a halt right now, closed beta was scheduled a while ago, but hasn't started to my knowledge. The Open beta was supposed to be late 2009, and that hasn't happened without the closed beta first. I'm sticking with Star Trek Online definitely.

Creating games for mac fortunately doesn't affect me very much, although I always thk the should be more Sci Fi games on the market. It's my favorite genre.

    Unhappy

I have tried EVE and was not impressed by it. I am a huge Star Trek Fan and I want to play the Beta. I am also a HUGE Star Wars fan and I want that game to come out now. Unfortunately Star Wars won't be out til 2011...(sigh)

I'm looking forward to JGE and SWTOR. But I fear neither of them will see the light of day until 2011.

I wish that developers would change this stigma. I play on PC but my girlfriend plays on Mac. We both LOVE Sci-Fi and MMOs and don't have many choices for playing together. So far it's only been WoW Hopefully 2010 will finally see a change...

EVE is spreadsheets in space. It's not so much a thinking man's game as it is a psychotic accountant's "game."

You should really read their forums. It's kinda gone way past the idea of being a game to many of them.

It's a little from column A and a little from column B. EVE is a cut throat game, there is no denying that. You can't play just to have fun. If you aren't in a corporation, chances are you will die and die a lot and loose a lot.

For some folks, it definitely is more than a game.

I've heard stories of people having other players power to their homes disconnected during a large battle. It makes me shudder to think about what's going to happen once DUST 514 hits.
