Rules of Conduct
EOGamer ROC.
These forums are for the discussion of EOGamer supported games and news and events associated with them. The following Rules of Conduct are posted to allow for an understanding of what actions and behaviors will not be tolerated. EOGamer expects posts provided by users to provide an environment that encourages discussions about EOGamer supported games.
A. Personal attacks are prohibited.
This specifically means any text/post that is blatantly attacking another person on or off the forum, especially in a personal way. This includes, but is not limited to trolling and flaming. Trolling is whenever someone is clearly, deliberately posting in a manner for the purpose of angering and/or insulting the other participants of the board. Trolling DOES NOT encourage discussion in the long run. Instead it encourages personal attacks and degrades the quality of discussions and the forum itself.
B. No posting of personal information.
Participants shall not post messages containing personal phone numbers, addresses, private e-mail addresses (ie. an address that is not their own), ICQ/Instant Messenger logs, or Private Messages. Private Messages received on these Forums are considered private and are not to be posted publicly.
C. Discussing moderator actions.
Publicly discussing actions by the moderators is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: bans, warnings, locks, private messages explaining nrules, and moved/closed threads. Any inquiries or comments on bans, warnings, or other moderator actions, are to be sent via private messages or e-mail. A moderator may choose to publicly inform the participants of a forum about bans and warnings if this is in the interest of the forum. This is at the moderator's discretion, not the banned party's discretion.
D. Advertising.
Advertising of player-run servers and inquiry as to how to run/support a player run server for any game is prohibited. Theoretical discussions on this subject is also prohibited.
E. Bugs and Exploits.
Posting details of bugs, exploits, hacks or cheats in such a way that others are able to perform said action is strictly prohibited.
F. Pornography and hatred.
Posting of pornography; racist, bigoted, or discriminating remarks' threats to cause physical or mental harm; extreme offensive language, or material that breaks any law or is otherwise totally unacceptable posts that links to pages that contain the aforementioned material may result in an immediate ban from the forums.
G. Selling/buying for RL money.
Player to player transactions regarding the selling or purchase of in-game virtual items for real life currency are prohibited from being promoted or advertised on EOGamer if it is prohibited by the game's Terms of Service. This includes but is not limited to gold/currency sales, power leveling, account sales/trading or any other prohibited terms as outlined by appropriate game's TOS. This also prohibits sites that promote a legal service to one game, but also illegal to another.
H. RL advertisement.
Advertising the sale of other items, including but not limited to prescription/non-prescription drugs, subscription to pornographic sites, etc. If you are interested in advertising through EOGamer via banner ads, please contact advertising@eogamer.com
I. Censor filter. Deliberately circumventing the censor filter is prohibited.
J. Spamming. Spamming the forums is prohibited. This includes posting relevant replies to topics, but having links to a site that violates above rules as spam, as well as posting anything normally considered as spam.
K. Signatures and Avatars.
Please adhere to the following restriction for signature and avatar images:
Signature Images
--Please keep signature image file size to 150kb or under --Please keep signature dimensions no more than 700x200 pixels
This includes sigs that contain multiple images. If images are lined up horizontal they cannot exceed 700 pixels wide, or if they are lined up vertical, they cannot exceed 200 pixels. This includes text with images. The combined size of all images together cannot exceed 150kb. If sigs violate this rule in any way, you will be subject to a warning and possible infraction if it is not fixed in a reasonable amount of time.
Avatar Images:
--Please keep avatars to a maximum file size of 150kb --Please keep avatar dimensions to a max of 150x150 pixels.
l. Ignoring moderator warnings.
Not responding to or ignoring moderator warnings can lead to suspension. J. Off Topic discussions.
Off Topic discussions are not prohibited, but should be posted within reason. Some game forums have their own specific-OT forum, otherwise there is a general OT forum that can be used for all games.
K. Stay on main topic.
All Forums have a main topic. When starting a new thread, make sure you do so in the proper Forum. For example, guild advertisements should be posted in the appropriate game guild related forum.
